THANK YOU. THANK YOU. THANK YOU. This Thanksgiving, I am extra thankful for all of the support that we receive as an organization. Each donation means more and more because we are one step closer to our goal of $285,000 all for the kiddos. I am thankful for the kiddos that inspire me to never give up and continue to fight for the next generation.
As the fall semester quickly comes to an end, it’s that time of the year to remember to take a step back and reflect on all the things that I am thankful for. Thinking back to my freshman year going to my first all-dancer meeting, I was so nervous and did not know what to expect. I had no idea that going into my 3rd year with DM that this organization would mean so much to me. After my first big event, I knew SAUDM was a place that I could find a passion. The tears, smiles, laughs, and memories of the big event are what makes this organization so special because every moment matters. I wanted to be apart of something that could change people’s lives, and it also changed my life forever.
First off, I would like to thank all of my donors over the past years to continue to support our organization and let us make many miracles at St. Ambrose Dance Marathon. To see the impact we can make on the kiddos and their families is why I wanted to do more. I was apart of the fundraising committee that was responsible for organizing and planning on and off-campus events, canning, and contacting local businesses for food nights. This past year for SAUDM, I took on a new challenge as the Fundraising Director. I am forever thankful for this opportunity to lead the fundraising committee and to make many more miracles this year for our kiddos apart of the SAUDM family. I am so grateful for what this organization means to me. It is so hard to put into words what this organization does for those kiddos at the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital. After going on a hospital visit, I was able to see firsthand the impact that we have on the lives of the kiddos and their families.
As I look forward to the spring semester, we have many events that my fundraising committee is working hard to organize and plan out all of the details. A few of these include Black Tie Event, Music Bingo, DM Gala, and FTK Bowling. These events will be great opportunities to interact with our families and build relationships that can last a lifetime. I could not imagine what I would do without the help and hard work that my committee puts in each fundraiser or event we host. I am thankful for the great people I get to work alongside on our year-long journey.
I am so thankful for this opportunity to leave my impact on our organization and the kiddos at the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital. With the help and support of each member involved in this organization, we all can make a difference to change the future for children. I would like to thank everyone involved in Dance Marathon because we truly could not do it without help from every member of this organization. We appreciate all of the hard work that everyone puts into this organization to raise money and support our miracle families both financially and emotionally. The impact that this organization has left on me is beyond words, I am forever for the kids.
