BY: TAYLOR MADISON, SAUDM DANCER
Hello! My name is Taylor Madison, I am a Sophomore majoring in Sociology and I have been involved with Dance Marathon for a total of 4 years now. In high school, I attended the Mini Big Events my freshman and sophomore years and I had a blast even on such a small scale. Coming to college, I really wanted to be involved with Dance Marathon here as well so I signed up on a random team and had an amazing, heartfelt, and inspiring 13.1 hours spent dancing with friends and strangers all there for one purpose, to bring awareness for the kiddos fighting the biggest fight. My first year dancing at SAU DM I raised $83 which was disappointing as I had a higher personal goal for myself. This year, I have been canning and doing a lot more fundraising and I am excited to say my goal is at $750 which is significantly better than last year and I’m excitingly close. I can’t wait for the Big Event which is THIS WEEKEND!! I’m so excited to be in such a wholesome environment where we all come together for something much bigger than ourselves, something that makes an impact, and to represent such an amazing organization. May we raise more and more every year and help the kiddos get that much closer to a cure.
I first started doodling and calligraphy about two years ago after seeing videos on Instagram. I would watch numerous videos and eventually, I decided to give it a try. It’s taken a lot of time to really figure out my style and what pens work and don’t, which markers provide the prettiest effect and which just fall flat. Over time and a lot of practice, an Instagram account and many large projects later, I am confident in my abilities and I get so excited at the idea of doing this as a side business. Along with every other aspiring artist, I just have to work for it and market the crap out of my brand. So, if you’re interested in seeing more of my work or keeping up with my progress, check out my insta @taylorletteringco 🙂
Together we can, Together we dance, Together we are FTK! Forever dancing for those who can’t and raising money until a cure is found. Have an amazing week and I will see you at The Big Event! Thanks for reading 🙂
